About the Artist
Emily Rose Russell is a mixed media storyteller, whose aim is to provide a voice and platform for those whose stories are not told. Through both writing and photography, she has covered local stories about protests, community and culture, some of which were published in her university's student newspaper, the Falmouth Anchor. Throughout her time at Falmouth University, she worked closely with local refugee charities, and delved into the world of Graphic Design and Branding, and as part of her final university portfolio, worked on the Remove the Slave Trader Memorial Campaign and projects surrounding refugee activism and the UK's new Illegal Migration Bill.

As rewarding as this work is, Emily's favourite subject to photograph is her own family. She created a documentary series, "I Once Cared for You, Now you Care for Me", surrounding her mother caring for her grandad during the second lockdown, which was named runner up for a Documentary Feature Series in the Falmouth University 2021 Press Awards.

She graduated from university in July 2023, and has since worked as a Communications Officer for the UK based, international children's charity, Global Care, and a Communications Assistant for the UHCW NHS Trust.
